Shipping a car from/to Hawaii starts at around $900, so if you can get the car at a good deal and you live near California it wouldn’t be too bad. It just takes a while to get to the US.

That’s not worth buying. Pre facelift W220s are complete clusterfucks of cars. They’re the reason the W220 has a terrible reputation.

Probably one of the best early cars left, but you’re playing Russian roulette with one of those. Keep a nice savings account for when things go wrong, they will. A first year 220 is one of the most “beta test” cars made.

Yes. It was just very cheaply designed. Abhorrent electrical systems, COMMAND I is one of the worst infotainment systems I’ve ever had the misfortune of using, and Gen 1 airmatic/ABC is legendarily unreliable. I daily drive a 2004 S600 and encourage you to look for a post facelift S500 with airmatic. They’re great cars when properly maintained but if I could tell you one thing, it’d buy the best one you can afford and to avoid ABC at all costs.
